20251201 - Porsche - I rode a long with someone for a Porsche tour. It is an interesting group. One, Porsches have a cult following. Second, it is fairly affordable to get into the Porsche market. A few more notes:
- The iconic black Porsche in the original Bad Boys (1995) is a Porsche 911 (964) Turbo 3.6. Maye the last air cooled?
- Porsche became known for its racing success, but ultimately a road car
- Theme: Porsche being Porsche, improvement is continual. But the engineering number system gets more and more confusing!
- This is apparently observed going from the 996 to the 997 - Porshce learned a lot from the 996 and incorporated their learnings into the 997
- The next generating after the 997 was the 991
- Pikes Peak,
- Put a turbo in the car, have to deal with the lag
- 24 Hours of Le Mans: Endurance sports car race held annually near the city of Le Mans, France
- Bad Boys movie! The directory, Michael Bay's car, used in this movie. Iconic. This is a 964 Turbo. Air cooled. Porsche figured out to get even more compression into its turbo boost. Eventually Porsche built the next version of the 964 called the 993 (the last air oooled version). The 993 was completely rebuilt from the ground up - improvements everywhere. The engineering generation numbering system is confusing!
- Great advertising in the 80s/90s:
- Kills bugs faster (introduction of the 993)
- Nobody's perfect - 9 of the 10 top finishers in the 24 hour La Man race were Porsches
- About as fast as you can go without getting airlines food
- Apparently there is a 911 turbo hybrid now
- the Porsche 930 Turbo was famous for having a significant and long turbo delay, commonly referred to as turbo lag. This characteristic was a major factor in the car earning its notorious nickname, "The Widowmaker".
- Porsche 991 turbo is the clark kent as well as superman

20251207 - Zelda - first game where you could save your progress. why was it so good? Gold cartridge. The gameplay a simple RPG that is very accessible to the average player. Link has a lot of different tools to keep thigns interesting. Lots of interesting challenges and suprises. Differetb techniques for defeating enamies and bosses. Use certain weapons against certain enemies or even to solve puzzles, which mix up the gameplay and keeps the player thinking and on their toes. Sometimes, aggression won't be the answer. You need to think outside the box. Sometimes you may even need to use music to aid you on your quest at various points of the game.
